GACC – Local Priorities Fund

Did you know that your local Community Council has a fund from which local projects could benefit from?

Some examples of what it has been used for:

  • Local awards to sports clubs
  • Environmental initiatives such as planting and composting
  • Music groups

The Community Council assesses awards against the following criteria.  Submitting an application is easy!

  • Benefits as large as possible a number/cross-section of our communities.
  • Environmental improvement.
  • Projects which the Community Council sees as necessary but where East Lothian Council or other funding is unavailable, is partial (we can help to top-up) or will take too long to deliver.
  • Funding to meet individuals/groups with particular needs in our communities.
  • Projects which are one-off, since the Community Council cannot provide funding for on-going operations.
  • Projects that will promote our communities, for example in tourism.
  • Evidence of what funding you have or will have raised towards your project – the Community Council will not normally agree to provide full funding.
